Set the programme, lock the lid, and it builds pressure, cooks, and switches to keep warm on its own. Because it is sealed, it uses a fraction of the gas or power of an open sufuria and the kitchen does not fill with steam.

The inner pot is non stick aluminium that lifts out for washing, the lid locks and will not open while there is pressure inside, and overheat protection cuts the power if the pot runs dry.
