Mashing a full sufuria of potatoes, or a pot of green bananas and maize for mukimo, is hard work with a straight-handled masher: your wrist is at the wrong angle and lumps hide around the curve of the pan. The Easy-Mash changes the grip rather than the mashing plate.

The D-shaped handle lets you push down with your whole hand and forearm instead of your wrist, so you get more force with less effort and can keep going without your hand cramping. A non-slip grip means it stays put even with steam and wet hands. The mashing plate is curved to follow the sides of the pan, and pan-scraping edges lift what collects at the base so nothing is left half-mashed. It is safe on non-stick cookware, so you can mash directly in the pot, and it is dishwasher safe afterwards.
