The TriScale answers that with three arms that fold out into a wide, stable weighing platform and fold back in to something that slips into a cutlery drawer. Touch-sensitive controls sit flush on the surface, the LCD is large enough to read at a glance mid-recipe, and the add-and-weigh function lets you build a whole batter in one bowl instead of washing three. It is an electronic scale, so it is wiped clean with a damp cloth rather than washed.
