Two 20 litre compartments take general waste and recycling, and a removable 3 litre caddy at the top takes peelings and food scraps, so the main bag stays clean and the flies stay away. Capacity goes upwards rather than outwards, which is why this trash can slots into the gap beside a fridge or at the end of a run of units. Replaceable activated carbon filters in the lid hold the smell in, which matters in a warm Nairobi kitchen between collections. Both compartments lift out, with carrier bag hooks and liner retaining holes so bags sit properly and come out cleanly.
