Ocean Blue Stoneware Dinner Set 16 Piece, Service for 4 | Dinner Plates, Dessert Plates, Bowls and Mugs, Dishwasher and Microwave Safe

A 16 piece ocean blue stoneware dinner set for four: dinner plates, dessert plates, bowls and mugs, so breakfast, lunch and dinner come out of the same box. The inside of each piece is a mottled blue reactive glaze and the outside is a matte finish, so the two textures meet at the rim. Reactive glaze moves in the kiln, which means no two pieces are shaded exactly alike. Stoneware is fired hotter and built thicker than ordinary ceramic, so it is heavier in the hand and made for daily use.

What is in the box

• 4 dinner plates, 26.7cm (10.5 inch)
• 4 dessert plates, 20cm (8 inch)
• 4 bowls, 680ml (23 oz)
• 4 mugs, 500ml (16.9 oz)

Details

• Lead free stoneware, fired at high temperature for a hard, scratch resistant glaze; knives and forks do not mark it
• Mottled ocean blue reactive glaze inside, matte glaze outside; shading varies piece to piece
• Plates and bowls stack flat, so the set takes little cupboard space
• Service for 4; buy two sets for a table of 8
• 680ml bowls take cereal, soup, stew, rice and salad
• 500ml mugs for tea and coffee, so the set covers the morning too
• Dishwasher and microwave safe; do not put a cold plate into a hot oven

Good for

• A first full dinner set for a new home or apartment
• Family dining with plates, bowls and mugs that match
• Airbnb, guesthouse and office kitchens
• Christmas, wedding and housewarming gifts; it ships in a boxed set
