A flat cutlery tray wastes most of the air above it. If your drawer is deep enough to close over a stack of forks, a flat tray is using maybe a third of the space you paid for — and the family set still ends up half in the drawer and half in a jug by the sink.

The DrawerStore Large solves that by angling the compartments so they layer on top of one another, holding more cutlery in the same footprint. Each compartment is stacked individually and marked with a cutlery icon, so everyone in the house puts the spoons back where the spoons go. Non-slip feet stop it sliding forward every time the drawer is opened. Made from BPA-free polypropylene in grey. Note that it needs a drawer at least 8 cm deep — check before ordering. Joseph Joseph has discontinued the grey version; only bamboo remains in their range.
