It carries the same idea as the rest of the Elevate range: the handle is weighted with an integrated rest, so when you set the spoon down on a breakfast table or a worktop the business end stays raised and off the surface. That matters more with a jar spoon than with almost anything else in the range, because what comes out of jars is exactly the sort of thing you do not want on your table — jam, honey, brine. Useful at breakfast, and useful when you are serving from jars to guests.
