Turning a piece of tilapia or a chicken thigh needs a head that is stiff enough to take the weight and slotted enough to let the oil drain back into the pan rather than travel to the plate. This is that tool – and it is the one that does not leave a greasy print on your worktop when you put it down.

The handle is weighted, so the turner tips back onto its end and holds the head clear of the surface. The head is nylon, rated to 200°C, and safe against non-stick coatings where a metal turner would take the finish off in a month. The silicone handle is rated higher, to 270°C, and stays grippy even with oil on your hands. This is the nylon version of the Elevate slotted turner in the grey and green colourway, BPA free and dishwasher safe.
