The Lotus solves that by folding. Its petals open out and draw back in, so a single basket sits down into whatever pot you already own rather than committing you to one pan size. It is built non-scratch, so it can go into a good non-stick pot without leaving marks on the coating, and it is heat resistant for use over a boiling pan. Folded, it lies flat in a drawer instead of claiming a shelf — which matters in a Nairobi kitchen where shelf space is the scarce thing.
