Washing beans or dicing tomatoes usually needs a colander, a board and two trips across the kitchen. Rinse & Chop Plus is one piece: lay it flat and it is a chopping board, fold it and it curves into a colander for rinsing and draining under the tap.

Fold it the other way and the opposite end becomes a chute, so chopped food slides straight into the pot instead of down the outside of the sufuria. The surface is non-slip, so it stays where you put it while you are working rather than skating across a wet counter, and it goes into the dishwasher afterwards. In a small Nairobi kitchen where the sink, the board and the cooker are all within a metre of each other, owning one item that does three jobs is the entire point - it is less to wash, less to store and one less thing to shift when you need the counter.
