The Shred-Line is a flat stainless-steel paddle with double-action teeth that cut in both directions, breaking garlic and ginger down into a proper paste rather than coarse shreds. Because the surface is smooth steel rather than a rough rasp, the pulp lifts off cleanly instead of packing into the teeth, and stainless steel itself helps take the garlicky smell off your hands when you rinse it. It also handles whole spices and nutmeg, so it earns its drawer space beyond garlic night. At just under 12cm it slips into a drawer flat.
