SpiceStore replaces that with ten matching jars carried on two rotating carousels. Spin the top layer to bring the jar you want round to the front, lift it off to reach the layer beneath. The carousels stack into each other, so the whole set stands in a 15 x 15 cm square and 21 cm tall — a worktop corner, or a single cupboard shelf, rather than a whole shelf. Two larger 0.2 L jars are sized for the spices you go through fastest, with eight 85 ml jars for the ones you use by the pinch. The lids are airtight, which matters in humid coastal air and in a Nairobi kitchen that swings between dry season dust and the long rains — ground spice loses its edge fastest when it can breathe. Non-slip bases keep the carousels planted while you spin them, and the jars are dishwasher safe when it is time to refill.
