Joseph Joseph Worktop Saver – Colour Blocks Toughened Glass Chopping & Serving Board

A wooden board takes on the smell of whatever you cut on it last, and a plastic one scores until it holds onto more than you would like. Glass does neither — you chop, you wipe, and the surface is the same as it was when you bought it.

This is Joseph Joseph's Worktop Saver in the 'Colour Blocks' print: a toughened glass panel that works as a chopping board, a serving surface and a shield for the counter underneath. The printed design means it is presentable enough to carry to the table with bread and cheese on it rather than hiding it in a cupboard, which is how most people actually use one. Joseph Joseph has discontinued this design. One thing we will not pretend to know: the only surviving listing gives the size as 30 x 30 cm and we have not been able to confirm it against a second source, so treat that figure as indicative and ask us if the exact size matters.
